The eCommunity Website Module provides members with valuable information they can only get from your members-only website. The Website Content Manager has all the back office tools that you need to manage the dynamic content on your website, such as news, events, and downloadable material. Included are WYSIWYG editing tools which allow non-technical individuals to create formatting while adding and editing content, so any staff member can help manage the website with little or no training. Various user groups ranging from staff members to committee officers can be set up with limited privileges over specific content on the website, spreading out the responsibility and effort involved in content management. The Website Search Engine is a powerful resource and research tool that is sure to get your website bookmarked by your members, the press, and the public alike. Searches can be done globally on your entire website including news stories, events, and a download library. A narrower search can also be performed on just one section of your site, such as the newsletter archive. The search engine will do a full text search of all PDF’s on your website, making your website invaluable for anyone seeking information related to your industry or field. Members-only content is automatically filtered in the search results, so that only the appropriate users will have access to information that is intended only for them to see. The Calendar of Events gives members a quick view of meetings going on within your association, as well as in your industry. Using the Website Content Manager, staff and designated members can quickly add or update events on your association calendar, making the information readily available to members. The events displayed on the website can be restricted to members only, or even specific groups within your association. Each item on the calendar page can have links to more information such as a conference webpage site or a downloadable document with meeting agenda. Members using Outlook will be able to click on an event on your website’s calendar page and have it automatically added to their personal Outlook calendar. Online News eenables you to inform your members about the latest developments in your industry and within your association. Using the Website Content Manager, anyone in the know can easily add or update news stories instantly on your website. News stories can be targeted to members only, the public at large or special groups within your association, such as a committee or SIG. Top stories can appear on your home page with a full archive appearing on your news page. Each story can include a photo, links to other websites or within your website, and downloadable documents. The eNewsletter feature makes it easy to build each newsletter by simply tagging and sequencing the stories to be included. The Download Library allows your website visitors to easily find, view and download resource material of all kinds. The MemEx-Online Website Content Manager allows you to quickly upload and organize files in your Download Library and also to place links to the files on specific pages of your website. This takes the effort out of maintaining such things as a newsletter archives, polices, application forms and regulations. Files can be designated as viewable by the public, members only, committee members only and so on. Your resource library will include a search engine that turns your website into a valuable resource for researching and finding information related to your industry or field. File formats include PDF, MS Word, MS Excel, along with sound and video files for streaming or downloading. Member Opt-In/Opt-Out for Mailing Lists takes away the administrative headache of adding and removing email addresses to various mailing lists. Since a member is listed only once in the database, you can maintain information on all subscriptions to various mailings under a single record. The eCommunity Module provides a self service web page where a member can update their own information and preferences. Web Forums are an optional add-on feature that can be installed on your website. Web Forums, also known as online discussion groups, are a place on your website where members can keep the dialog going on subjects of general interest to your industry or field. Special Interest Groups can have their own forum or discussion group, which is ideal for connecting members with the specific topics on which they want to focus. Committees can have private forums giving members the ability to conduct the business of the committee asynchronously outside of committee meetings. Members using the forums can participate on your website, or subscribe to receive email notices of new postings. To reply to the email messages, members click a reply link similar to what facebook.com does to pull the user back to the website, thus increasing the member activity on your web site. |
